Transylvania by Cycle Me Home

Cycle Me Home para quien mastica algo de piñón fijo ha sido y es uno de los primeros proyectos de aventura ciclista a lomos de “una fija”. Recuerdo ver la proyección que se hizo en Barcelona, hace ya unos años, del viaje de Levi atravesando casi toda Europa desde Madrid a Budapest, y me acuerdo que fue uno de los videos mas inspiradores para mi y para nosotros como revista, no tanto por la realización si no por el concepto.

Con ese primer vídeo creo que ha inspirado a mucha gente o, simplemente, ha sabido crear un nuevo filón de ciclismo donde el centro de todo es la experiencia casi mística de algunos amigos que calan los pies a los pedales y emprenden una aventura colosal con lo justo y con muy poca idea de cuál será el recorrido real y, menos aún, de que les deparará el camino.

De alguna forma un homenaje a Kerouac, a la carretera, a la continua búsqueda de la aventura…

En Cycle Me Home encontramos plenamente reflejada esa parte raw del ciclismo que nos gusta, bicis, amigos, aventura, birras y, por qué no, un poco de locura.

Teníamos ganas de ver el último viaje de Levi y los chicos de Ciclos La Universal por Transylvania, así que organizamos una mini premier en casa; sofá, proyector, cervecita y a gozar.

Desde el minuto cero te trasladas a paisajes donde te gustaría tele-transportarte de forma inmediata. La realidad del lugar . Una voz de fondo que te hace parte de la experiencia. La flora y la fauna como el perro que se quiere unir al equipo. Un equipo fascinado con lo que pasa a su alrededor y grabando en su memoria una experiencia que será parte de ellos de por vida.

Atravesando los caminos más peligrosos, luchando contra el cansancio tanto físico como mental. Carreteras que parecen no tener un final. Trabajo en equipo. Esto es la esencia para este grupo de amigos, simplemente encontrar el verdadero aventurero que hay dentro de ti, ese viajero, ese ciclista. The cycle travellers.

Para entenderlo, algún día tendrías que coger tu bici y lanzarte a la carretera. Si lo puedes soñar, seguro que lo puedes hacer.

Y como cuando termina un show o una película de cine que te ha gustado, solo quedarías levantarte de la butaca, aplaudir, y gritar: “¡Bravo, bravo!”

Cycle Me Home for who knows some about fixed gear it has been and is one of the first projects of cyclist adventure on a “fixed”. I remember watching the projection done in Barcelona a few years ago, of the Levi’s travel crossing almost all of Europe, from Madrid to Budapest and I remember that it was one of most inspiring videos for me and for us as a magazine, not so much the performance if not the concept.

With this first video I think it has motivated many people, or simply has managed to create a new cycling concept where the center of it all is the almost mystical experience of some friends who take them bike and start a colossal adventure with the bare minimum and with very little idea of what will be the real route and still less what will bring them the travel.

Somehow a tribute to Kerouac, to the road, to the continuous search of adventure…

In Cycle Me Home we fully reflect the raw cycling part which we like, bikes, friends, adventure, beers and, why not, a little madness.

We wanted to see the last trip of Levi and the Ciclos La Universal guys in Transylvania, so we organized a mini premiere at home; couch, projector, beer and enjoy.

From the minute one you move to landscapes where you would like to be there immediately. The reality of the place. A voice-over that makes you part of the experience. Flora and fauna like the dog that wants to join the team. A team fascinated by what happens around them and recording in their memories an experience that will be part of them forever.

Crossing the most dangerous roads, fighting against physical and mental fatigue. Roads that seem to have no end. Teamwork. This is the essence for this group of friends, simply find the true adventurer, traveler and cyclist of yourself. The cycle Travellers.

To understand it, one day you’d have to take your bike and jump into the road. If you can dream it, surely you can do it.

And as when a show or a movie finish and you liked, you would only get up from the chair, clapping and shouting, “Bravo, bravo!”
