Tibidabo Hill Climb Vol.III Nothing can stop it!

One of the things that worry you when you organize a race is the weather. It is very common that in the week prior to the event, you spend the day checking the weather forecast hoping that nothing will be twisted at the last moment.

This is usually the most typical case, but this year we realized that there is evidence to bad weather suits them very well. Tibidabo Hill Climb certainly is one of them.

In its third edition, the organizers of the chrono-climbing par excellence of Barcelona ​​chose to advance the date of the race and take advantage of the good weather in early November. The event, despite minimal diffusion done, was a success, that’s undeniable, but it is true that we miss the icy cold of years and, why not, a few drops of rain to give him a more epic feel.

On the contrary and, through no fault of the organization, they were forced to move the finish line about 50 meters higher, thus prolonging the agony and suffering of the riders to reach the glory.

There were a total of 84 participants divided into 4 categories, more women are encouraged to participate, the variety of bikes increases and the faithful and tireless friends of the handbike don’t miss any edition of this great race.

Regarding the results, in the category Free-ride we saw a lot of riders struggling to achieve the best time but in the end the victory was for Maarten Klijnstra with a time of 0:13:19.

In the women category, the top two were disputed between Nicole Lewis and Francisca Campos (RAW Santafixie Team), with a difference of 10 seconds between both and a third place for the tireless Marce (Chicken Legs Team).

In the Medium category there was also a good fight for first place, this time between Paul Moorage and Daniel Canalís, both from the Terrassa Fixed, who they left every ounce of effort to get an amazing time.

Finally, in the premier class, the young Roberto Bou met expectations and achieved a fantastic time of 0:13:05 which, although not beat his time last year, this time it was enough to get the victory.

    Una de las cosas que más te preocupan cuando organizas una carrera es la climatología. Es muy común que, en la semana previa al evento, te pases el día revisando la previsión meteorológica con la esperanza de que nada se tuerza en el último momento.

    Esto suele ser el caso más típico pero, este año nos hemos dado cuenta que hay pruebas a las que el mal tiempo les sienta muy bien. El Tibidabo Hill Climb, sin duda, es una de ellas.

    En su tercera edición, los organizadores de la crono-escalada por excelencia de la ciudad Condal, optaron por adelantar la fecha de la carrera y aprovechar el buen tiempo que seguía haciendo a principios de noviembre en Barcelona. La prueba, a pesar de la mínima difusión que se hizo, fue todo un éxito, eso es innegable, pero sí que es verdad que echamos en falta el gélido frío de los otros años y, porque no, unas gotitas de lluvia que le dieran un toque más épico.

    Por el contrario y, por causas ajenas a la organización, se vieron obligados a desplazar la meta unos 50 metros más arriba, alargando así la agonía y el sufrimiento de los corredores para poder alcanzar la gloria.

    Hubo un total de 84 participantes repartidos en las 4 categorías que forman la prueba, cada vez más mujeres se animan a participar, la variedad de bicicletas también aumenta y los fieles e incansables amigos de las handbike no se pierden ni una sola edición de esta magnífica carrera.

    Respecto a los resultados, en la categoría Free-ride pudimos ver a un montón de corredores luchando por lograr la mejor marca pero al final se llevó la victoria Maarten Klijnstra con un tiempo de 0:13:19.

    En la categoría femenina, los dos primeros puestos se los disputaron entre Nicole Lewis y Francisca Campos (RAW Santafixie Team), con 10 segundos de diferencia entre ellas, y un tercer puesto para la incansable Marce del equipo Chicken Legs.

    Para la categoría Medium hubo también una buena lucha por el primer puesto, esta vez entre Paul Moorage y Daniel Canalís, ambos de Terrassa Fixed, que se dejaron hasta la última gota de esfuerzo para conseguir un tiempazo.

    Por último, en la categoría reina, el joven Roberto Bou cumplió con las expectativas y logró un fantástico tiempo de 0:13:05 que, a pesar de no superar su tiempo del año pasado, en esta ocasión le fue suficiente para permitirle alzarse con la victoria.
