After the great success of Rough Stuff Cycling in the Alps, if you don’t know consider seriously to take a look to this amazing project, the RSF is back with a new collaboration between Marck Hudson RSF archivist and Max Leonard, cycling author, and publisher of Isola Press.

They are gathering more than 60 years of Adventures of the oldest off-road cycling club, original slides, and texts about pioneers of one of the coolest bike trends nowadays.

THE CLUB was established in a pub near the Welsh/English border in 1955, a club where men and women, young and old was welcomed. Their adventures across the UK and the world were documented by many talented photographers in those days.

Mark Hudson thought that would not be a bad idea show all that valuable treasure in a book.

About 200 pages with thousands of stunning images from the 50’s to our days that portraits the passion and the Spirit of Club members, cycling and adventuring across Uk, Iceland and the Italian and Swiss Alps that teleport the reader to another epoch which is still in force.

A true treasure of vintage images and spirit, Rough Roads, Snow, unlikely outfits and most all the faces of some of the pioneers of this touring cycling in Europe.

“The photos are evocative of a bygone age and a bygone style – a time when you might set off on a bike ride wearing a shirt and tie or a bobble hat, and no ride was complete without a stop to brew up some tea and smoke a pipe.”

The book is not just a collection of great photos, is complemented by ride reports, handwritten maps, all rescued from the old RSF Club archives..

“In their own very British way, these men and women were pioneers, pedalling and carrying their bikes where angels feared to tread.

Mountain bikes, gravel bikes, adventure bikes all owe them a debt.

    Después del gran éxito de Rouugh stuff Cycling en los Alpes, si no lo conoces considera seriamente echar un vistazo a este increíble proyecto, el RSF ha vuelto con una nueva colaboración entre Marck Hudson, archivista de RSF y Max Leonard, autor de ciclismo y editor de Isola Press.

    The Rough Stuff Fellowship Archives

    Recopilan más de 60 años de aventuras del club de ciclismo de carretera más antiguo, diapositivas originales y textos sobre los pioneros de una de las tendencias de bicicletas más “trendy” en la actualidad.

    EL CLUB se estableció en un pub cerca de la frontera galesa / inglesa en 1955, un club donde hombres y mujeres, jóvenes y viejos, eran bienvenidos. Sus aventuras en todo el Reino Unido y el mundo fueron documentadas por muchos fotógrafos talentosos en estos días.

    Mark Hudson pensó que no sería una mala idea mostrar todo el valor de ese tesoro en un libro.

    Alrededor de 200 páginas con miles de impresionantes imágenes desde los años 50 hasta nuestros días, que retratan la pasión y el espíritu de los miembros del Club, pedaleando y aventurandose en el Reino Unido, Islandia y los Alpes italianos y suizos, que teletransportan al lector a otra época que  sigue vigente

    Un verdadero tesoro de imágenes y espíritu, caminos accidentados, nieve, atuendos inverosímiles y algunas de las caras de los pioneros del cicloturismo en Europa.

    “Las fotos evocan una época pasada y un estilo pasado, un tiempo en el que podrías iniciar un paseo en bicicleta con una camisa y corbata o un gorro de nieve, y ningún viaje acabé sin una parada para prepara un poco de té y fumar en pipa.”

    El libro no es solo una colección de buenas fotos, está complementado por textos de las rutas, mapas manuscritos, todo rescatado del viejo archivo del club RSF.

    “A su manera muy Británica, estos hombres y mujeres fueron pioneros, pedaleando y llevando sus bicicletas donde los ángeles temían pisar.

    Las bicicletas de montaña, las gravel, las bicicletas de aventura.. están todas en deuda.

    Este libro celebra su espíritu y estilo. Es un recurso visual imponente, una herencia ciclista que inspirará nuevas aventuras.”
