Posedla Joyseat 2.0: Elevando el Confort de Ciclismo

En el mundo de los componentes de bicicletas a medida, Posedla ha estado revolucionando la experiencia ciclista, llevando al mercado el primer sillín de bicicleta personalizado impreso en 3D. Desde hace casi dos años, Joyseat ha sido acogido por ciclistas de todo el mundo por su promesa de paseos sin dolor.

Hace poco más de un año, tuvimos la oportunidad de sentarnos con los fundadores de Posedla para discutir su visión, desafíos y aspiraciones para el futuro del confort en el ciclismo. Avanzando hasta hoy, Posedla no solo ha cumplido sus promesas, sino que ha superado las expectativas al lanzar recientemente un Joyseat 2.0 refinado. Tras reunir extensos comentarios de sus ciclistas y embajadores, estuvieron ocupados trabajando en su laboratorio para incorporar estos conocimientos en la nueva iteración del producto, prometiendo aún más comodidad y opciones de personalización. También han introducido un sillín personalizado diseñado específicamente para contrarreloj/triatlón, atendiendo las necesidades de los ciclistas orientados al rendimiento.

Mejoras de diseño para la versión 2.0

Echemos un breve vistazo a las mejoras que trae consigo el Joyseat 2.0. El desarrollo del Joyseat 2.0 fue impulsado por el compromiso de abordar las diversas necesidades de los ciclistas. Al revisar la forma del sillín, Posedla ha buscado facilitar transiciones más suaves entre diferentes zonas, proporcionando una experiencia más fluida. Además, el diseño paramétrico de la punta tiene en cuenta factores individuales como el contorno del muslo, con el objetivo de garantizar un ajuste personalizado para cada ciclista.

Una mejora notable en el Joyseat 2.0 es la amplia gama de anchos de sillín, posible gracias a las actualizaciones del algoritmo de Posedla y los avances en tecnología de impresión 3D. Esta expansión tiene como objetivo atender a un espectro más amplio de ciclistas, desde aquellos con isquiones (huesos de asiento) estrechos hasta aquellos más anchos. La gama ahora cuenta con 40 anchuras posibles, desde 130 mm hasta 170 mm.

Respondiendo a las demandas de los ciclistas en posiciones más agresivas, Posedla ha reducido la longitud del sillín en 11 mm, optimizando el área de superficie manteniendo la comodidad. Además, las mejoras en el canal de alivio central que conecta la punta con los isquiones buscan proporcionar mayor comodidad durante los cambios de posición.

En cuanto al peso, Posedla ha logrado reducir el peso de sus sillines de carretera más estrechos en un 15% mediante la refinación de la superposición de fibra de carbono y la optimización de datos. Si bien la reducción de peso no fue el objetivo principal, esta mejora demuestra el compromiso de Posedla de mejorar el rendimiento sin sacrificar la comodidad. El peso ahora comienza en 145 gramos.

Proceso de producción optimizado

Nos reunimos recientemente con el equipo de Posedla nuevamente, y nos enteramos de que la startup ha avanzado un paso adelante con la transición a nuevas instalaciones de producción. Eso les permitió optimizar no solo el sillín en sí, sino, lo que es más importante, su proceso de fabricación, reduciendo el tiempo medio de entrega a solo seis semanas. Su artesanía se muestra muy bien en este video.

Además, Posedla ha extendido su garantía de satisfacción a 60 días desde la entrega, permitiendo a los ciclistas tener tiempo suficiente para probar su Joyseat 2.0 y experimentar la diferencia de primera mano.

Por último, como se presentó anteayer, la empresa checa se ha asociado con The Service Course, por lo que su nuevo sillín estará en exhibición en esta tienda de bicicletas de renombre mundial en su sede de Girona.

Al reflexionar sobre la evolución de Joyseat desde su inicio hasta el lanzamiento de Joyseat 2.0, queda claro que Posedla sigue dedicada a la innovación y mejora de la experiencia ciclista para todo el mundo. In the world of bespoke bike components, Posedla has been revolutionizing the cycling experience, bringing the first and only custom 3D-printed bike saddle to the market. For nearly two years, Joyseat has been embraced by cyclists worldwide for its promise of pain-free rides.

Just over a year ago, we had the opportunity to sit down with the founders of Posedla to discuss their vision, challenges, and aspirations for the future of cycling comfort. In that in-depth interview and customer journey review, we explored the genesis of the company and their flagship product Joyseat, gaining insights into the company’s ethos and their commitment to crafting saddles that prioritize both comfort and performance. Fast forward to today, and Posedla has not only fulfilled their promises but exceeded expectations as they launched a refined Joyseat 2.0 just recently. Gathering extensive feedback from their riders and ambassadors, they were busy working in their lab to incorporate those insights into the new product iteration, promising even better comfort and broader customization options. They’ve also introduced a custom saddle tailored specifically for TT/triathlon, catering to the needs of performance-oriented cyclists.

Design improvements for the 2.0 version

The development of Joyseat 2.0 was driven by a commitment to addressing the diverse needs of cyclists. By revising the saddle’s shape, Posedla has sought to facilitate smoother transitions between different zones, providing a more seamless riding experience. Furthermore, the parametric design of the nose takes into account individual factors such as thigh circumference, aiming to ensure a customized fit for each rider.

One notable improvement in Joyseat 2.0 is the expanded range of saddle widths made possible through updates to Posedla’s algorithm and advancements in 3D printing technology. This expansion aims to cater to a broader spectrum of cyclists, from those with narrow sit bones to those with wider ones. The range now counts 40 possible widths from 130mm to 170mm.

Responding to the demands of riders in more aggressive positions, Posedla has reduced the saddle length by 11mm, optimizing surface area while maintaining comfort. Additionally, enhancements to the relief channel connecting the nose to the sit bones aim to provide greater comfort during position changes.

In terms of weight, Posedla has managed to reduce the weight of their narrowest road saddles by 15% through refined carbon fiber layering and data optimization. While weight reduction was not the primary goal, this improvement demonstrates Posedla’s commitment to enhancing performance without sacrificing comfort. The weight now starts at 145 grams.

Streamlined production process

We met with the Posedla team recently again, learning that the startup has taken a step forward with a transition to new production facilities. That allowed them to streamline not just the saddle itself, but most importantly its manufacturing process, reducing the average lead time to just six weeks. Their craftsmanship is nicely depicted in this video.

Moreover, Posedla has extended its satisfaction guarantee to 60 days from delivery, allowing riders ample time to test their Joyseat 2.0 and experience the difference it makes firsthand.

Lastly, as presented two days ago, the Czech company has partnered with The Service Course, so their new saddle will be on display at this world-famous bike shop in their Girona store.
