En un mundo que gira a veces demasiado rápido, es importante poner en valor las cosas hechas a mano, respetando los procesos, en pro de la calidad y la personalización, con dedicación y constancia.

Los fabricantes de cuadros hechos a medida se mantienen firmes defendiendo un espacio en el que la técnica, la artesanía y el trabajo manual moldean el sueño de muchos ciclistas y amantes de la bici. Una bicicleta fabricada desde cero por una persona capaz de materializar todas aquellas ideas que llevan tiempo rondando en tu cabeza. Creando un producto único, pensado y diseñado por y para tí.

Los cuadros handmade generan cada vez más interés entre los entusiastas de la bicicleta, por eso creemos que es necesario que conozcáis mejor no solo el producto, sino también a los fabricantes que están detrás.

Es por eso que, desde RAW, nos hemos embarcado en un proyecto que nos hace especial ilusión y que queremos compartir con vosotros, el MANITAS – Framebuilder Award.

Los que nos seguís, y leéis, ya sabéis que hemos escrito largo y tendido sobre las bondades del cuadro custom, ya sea de acero, de carbono o de la mezcla de ambos. Pero ahora queremos ir un paso más allá y analizar en detalle el producto para poder reconocer el trabajo de todos los artesanos. De este proceso de estudio y, siguiendo nuestro criterio y experiencia, saldrá escogido el framebuilder que merece llevarse el sello MANITAS del año.

MANITAS – Framebuilder Award

Muchos de vosotros os preguntaréis por qué hemos escogido este nombre. La expresión en español “manitas” refleja muy bien la habilidad de una persona para crear con sus manos y creíamos necesario darle a ellas el protagonismo que les corresponde.

¿Cómo funciona?

Mensualmente publicaremos una bike review de una bicicleta previamente seleccionada. Analizaremos en profundidad la construcción, la dinámica, el comportamiento cuando lo llevamos al límite y os vamos a contar y mostrar todos y cada uno de los detalles que hacen de ella una bici especial.

También tendremos en cuenta la vertiente estética, el trabajo de pintura, montaje, y los acabados que ponen el broche de oro para estas piezas de culto.

A finales de año, haremos público el framebuilder escogido y reconoceremos su trabajo con un reportaje y otras sorpresas que poco a poco os iremos desvelando.

In a world that sometimes spins too fast, you learn to value things done by hand, respecting the process, favoring the quality and customization, of dedication and persistence.

Custom frame builders stay true to traditions, defending the techniques, craftsmanship and manual labor, which give shape to the dreams of many cyclists and bike enthusiasts. A bicycle builds from scratch by someone who is capable of putting together all those thoughts you have kept in your mind for so long. A unique product, exclusively designed and made by and for you.

Bike enthusiasts are gradually gaining awareness of handmade frames. For this reason, we believe expanding your knowledge, not only around the product but also those who are behind the creation process.

This is why, at RAW, we decided to get involved in a very thrilling project that we would like to share with you, the MANITAS – Framebuilder Award.

Those who follow and read our articles, already know about the benefits of a custom frame, whether it is steel, carbon, or a mixture of both. However, we would like to go further and take this to the next level by analyzing every bike in close detail in order to acknowledge the craftsmen’s work. From this exercise and, from our technical point of view and expertise, a chosen builder will be rewarded with the MANITAS prize of the year.

MANITAS – Framebuilder Award

Many of you might be wondering why we chose this name. The term ‘manitas’ in Spanish, which stands for ‘little hands’ or ‘handyman’, reflects the skills a person has to create everything with his bare hands and, we believe, it was necessary to recognize their role.

How does it work?

We will monthly publish a bike review of a previously selected bicycle. We will thoroughly inspect how it was built, its dynamics, and behavior in all the situations. Besides, we will describe and show every single detail that makes an exceptional bike out of it.

We will also take into account the aesthetic aspect, its paintwork, the build, and the finishing touches that result in pieces worth of a world-class museum.

By the end of the year, we will announce the chosen framebuilder and recognize his talented work. In addition to that, other surprises will be eventually unveiled along the way.
