La esencia del Lambro Crit

En este artículo queremos centrar nuestra atención en Lambro Crit. ¿Otra crónica de un Critérium? En parte si y en parte no.

La primera edición de la cual tenemos noticia del Lambro Crit es con fecha 17 marzo 2013, gran motor y catalizador del evento es Giorgio Vianini, impulsor y organizador de la carrera. El evento se celebra en el parque Lambro, justo a las afueras de milano, las normas son muy sencillas: piñón fijo, casco y luces (a veces la iluminación del parque no es de las mejores).

El recorrido del critérium es muy rápido, empieza por una curva a la izquierda, dos semi-curvas que llevan a la curva fuerte a la derecha, recta a toda hostia, girando a la izquierda, entramos en la parte más oscura del circuito que lleva a un “hairpin”, última recta, curva a la derecha y otra vez estamos en la línea de meta.

El crit al celebrarse en un parque, mantiene esa esencia de “punk” o “do it yourself” que se ha ido perdiendo con la llegada de las competiciones más importantes.

Lambro Crit es simplemente un critérium organizado “como se hacía antes”, una reunión de amigos, donde la palabra clave es diversión y competir algo que existe y se hace simplemente por pasión.

El boom de los critérium de los últimos dos años ha hecho que muchísima gente se acercara al piñón fijo y a los critériums. Lambro Crit es un buen ejemplo de un evento local, sobre todo para gente local, que se celebra con frecuencia (suele ser miércoles, una vez al mes) y donde el objetivo de todos es pasar un buen rato, correr en bici, y reunir a gente que forma parte del mundillo. No hace falta decir que Milán es la capital del fixed gear en Italia; muchos son los equipos, los corredores y los aficionados.

En Lambro te puedes encontrar aficionados y también riders de equipos importantes como lo es el Team Cinelli Chrome, Iride, Back2Back, y otros italianos de nivel como HBK, Ju Team, Brianza Squadra Corse, Oscar Cycling etc…

Poco a poco en el Lambro Crit se van haciendo su espacio las chicas también, corredoras “miticas” del Lambro Crit son las dos damas de Desgëna, Stefania Baldi y Janine Jackson, cada vez la brigada de rosa va creciendo y ¡se hace más fuerte! Ojalá en breve podamos ver un Lambro Crit Women!

La carrera suele poner el límite de inscripciones a 50 riders, muchas veces hay sold out. Para los corredores de Milán y cercanías es el evento de referencia, también con el tiempo y el nivel de la prueba han ido ganando gente de otras partes de Italia, se ha empezado a apuntar las fechas de Lambro Crit en sus agendas.

El pasado 13 mayo se celebró la Oxeego Lambro Crit, Milán regala una tarde de primavera increíble, muchos los participantes, 59 en la línea de salida. En esta edición del Lambro Crit para anotar varios corredores de nivel como Fabio Scarrazzati (Back2Back), Bravini, Bruzza, Bocchi y Thibaud (Cinelli Chrome) y Biganzolli (Iride). Bueno que más decir, algunos de los mejores del circuito internacional. La carrera arrancaba con una calma casi inusual, hasta la mitad no empezó el Rock’n’roll, cuando Bravini y Angeli (Cinelli Chrome-Juteam) pegan un buen hachazo, después de algunas vueltas recuperado por parte de Biganzolli (IRD), el ritmo sube, Bocchi también intenta la fuga, sin éxito, Biganzolli y Scarrazzati mantienen unido el grupo. La última vuelta es una gran “VOLATA”, superando la última curva delante de todos Fabio Scarrazzati levanta los brazos en la línea de meta del Oxeego Lambro Crit, seguido por Roberto Barone y Thibaud Lhenry.

In this article we want to focus our attention on Lambro Crit. Is another feature about Criterium? Partly yes and partly no.

The first edition of which we have news of Lambro Crit is dated March 17_th 2013; the main promoter an organizer of this race is Giorgio Vianini. The event is held at the Lambro Park, just outside of Milan, the rules are very simple: fixed gear, helmet and light (sometimes the park lighting is not the best).

The Criterium circuit is very fast, starts with a curve to the left, two semi-curves leading to the sharp curve to the right, straight line full gas, turning left, we enter the darkest part of the circuit carrying a hairpin, last straight line, curved to the right and again we are at the finish line.

The Crit to be held in a park keeps this Punk essence or “do it yourself”, that has been lost with the arrival of the most important competitions.

Lambro Crit is simply a Criterium organized “how it did before”, a meeting of friends, where the key word is fun and compete as a passion.

The Criterium boom of the last two years has caused that many people take interest on fixed gear and Criteriums. Lambro Crit is a good example of a local event, especially for locals, celebrated frequently (usually Wednesday, once a month) and the aim of all is having fun, riding bike, and bring together people who are part of this world. Needless to say that Milan is the capital of fixed gear in Italy; there are many teams, riders and fans.

In Lambro you can find fans and riders of major teams such as Team Cinelli Chrome, Iride, Back2Back, and other high level teams like HBK, Ju Team, Brianza Squadra Corse, Oscar Cycling etc…

Gradually in the Lambro Crit women are taken part, mythical riders of Lambro Crit are the two ladies fo Desgëna, Stefania Baldi and Janine Jackson, step by step the rose brigade is growing up and is becoming stronger! Hopefully soon we can see a Women Lambro Crit!

The race usually put the limit registration to 50 riders, there is often sold out. For riders near and from Milan is the reference event, also over time and the race level, people from other parts of Italy has begun to target Lambro Crit dates in their agendas.

On May 13_th was held the Oxeego Lambro Crit, Milan gives an amazing spring afternoon, many participants, 59 in starting line. In this edition of Lambro Crit took part various great riders like Fabio Scarrazzati (Back2Back), Bravini, Bruzza, Bocchi and Thibaud (Cinelli Chrome) and Biganzolli (Iride). Well what else to say, some of the best of the world. The race started with an unusual calm, at half race the Rock’n’roll began when Bravini and Angeli (Cinelli Chrome-Juteam) took a great advantage, after some laps recovered by Biganzolli (IRD), the pace rises, Bocchi also tried to escape, unsuccessfully; Biganzolli and Scarrazzati hold the bunch. The last lap was a great “VOLATA”; after the last curve in front of all Fabio Scarrazzati raised his arms in the finish line of Oxeego Lambro Crit, followed by Roberto Barone and Thibaud Lhenry.
