Criterium Toledo, starts the Spanish season!

There were high expectations for the first criterium of the season here in Spain… and the Criterium Domus Ciudad de Toledo has left all, riders, public and organizers very satisfied.

The weekend began on Saturday night with an evening of golsprints, tasty beers to break the ice and take to fraternize and socialize with old friends.

Many teams from our country attended the appointment in the second edition of the Toledan Criterium, a mix between already known and newly teams, a good combination, honestly.

Polo and Bike, Dr.Hoffmann, Commfixed, Dequebikes, FavelaFrama, 5 Shillings, The Roosters, 126 fixed… the fixed motion in Spain doesn’t want to slow down its expansion.

At 9 o’clock Sunday morning began the collection of dorsal and… Warm up started! There were two qualifying rounds, a play-off for a total of 45 finalists and several falls in the qualifying rounds and also at the end, in principle, without complications.

The final was around the 1 pm; 20 laps at full speed. Looking at the podium needless to mention the level of the race, amazing! Mario Paz Duque (IRIDE) got first place ahead of Emilio López (COMMFixed) and Pablo Rodríguez (Polo and Bike), who are not exactly two rookies in this.

In general, there was a great atmosphere among the participants and a lot of adrenaline. Not only the “pro” have also had merit in the race, also the teams more “punk” have been able to enjoy this event.

About 2 pm was the awards ceremony, the podium and finally the post-race in Brewery Domus.

Organizers managed to handle very well the large number of registrations and the high level of competition. We had no doubt, the event has grown up a lot and everything has lived up to.

“From the riders to the public we have been already congratulated on numerous occasions and this time even the City Council made space for us and has given us thank you for bring something like this to our city.”

Anyway… all happy!

    Había muchas expectativas para el primer crit de la temporada aquí en España… y el Critérium Domus Ciudad de Toledo ha dejado a todos, corredores, público y organizadores muy satisfechos.

    El fin de semana empezaba la noche del sábado con una velada de golsprints, buenas cervezas para romper el hielo y aprovechar para fraternizar y charlar con viejos amigos.

    Muchos equipos provenientes de todo el país acudieron a la cita con la segunda edición del critérium toledano, un mix entre equipos ya conocidos y equipos recién estrenados, una buena combinación, la verdad.

    Polo and Bike, Dr.Hoffmann, Commfixed, Dequebikes, FavelaFrama, 5 Shillings, The Roosters, 126 fixed… el movimiento fixed en España no parece tener ganas de frenar su expansión.

    La mañana del domingo a las 9h se iniciaba la recogida de dorsales y… ¡a calentar! Dos rondas clasificatorias y una repesca para un total de 45 finalistas. Varias caídas en las rondas de clasificación y también en la final, en principio, sin complicaciones.

    La final se disputó alrededor de las 13 h. 20 vueltas a toda pastilla. Mirando el pódium no hace falta hacer mención del nivel de la carrera, ¡brutal! Mario Paz Duque (IRIDE) consiguió el primer puesto delante de Emilio López (COMMFixed) y Pablo Rodríguez (Polo and Bike), que no son precisamente dos novatos en esto.

    En general, gran ambiente entre los participantes y adrenalina por un tubo. Además, no solo los “pros” han tenido mérito en la carrera, también los equipos más “punk” han podido disfrutar de este evento.

    Sobre las 14h se realizaba la entrega de premios, el pódium y por último la post-race en la fábrica de cerveza Domus.

    Los organizadores han sabido manejar muy bien la gran cantidad de inscritos y el alto nivel de la competición. No teníamos duda, el evento ha crecido mucho y todo ha estado a la altura.

    “Desde los riders y público hemos sido ya felicitados en numerables ocasiones y esta vez incluso el ayuntamiento ha buscado un hueco para nosotros y nos ha dado las gracias por traer algo así a nuestra ciudad.”

    En fin… ¡Todos contentos!
